Some Down Time [Open]

Michie was in a particular mood: a music playing mood. She was calm, relaxed, and at general peace with the world. It was the perfect kind of mood to play her violin in and therefore that’s precisely what she was doing – or rather, one of the things she was doing. As the Song played Michie found herself dancing and twirling gracefully around the spacious drawing room of her and her father's home: the music floating throughout the house as if wishing to fill it all up with its happiness.

To the unknown observer Michie would look like nothing more than a talented civilian playing a beautiful tune: the way she dressed (a blue knee length long sleeved dress which had circle skirt bottom, black leggings, and black boots) was not typical shinobi attire after all. However, were one to watch her graceful and fluid movements long enough they would see a hint of shinobi hidden in there in the way she moved, and the un-natural speed and grace which she could do so.

Even with her eyes closed, which they currently were, she danced and twirled to her music; a mental picture of the drawing room allowing her to do so without bumping into anything. She loved this particular tune because it caused a mental picture of a beautiful castle made out of glass to appear in her minds eye: a cold place, and yet a happy one.

Ocean blue eyes glanced upwards as music reached his ears. He always thought she was good, but she was getting better all the time. He would smile with pride as he sat for a moment. He then got up, crossing the room and heading upstairs. He quickly decided to hear this tune in person, as supporting her was important to him. He took the last three steps in a single bound as he headed towards his daughter's room. He would knock on the door and wait for a reply before walking in the room. Her room was nice, and she managed to give it plenty of personality. "Please continue, it was awesome!" He spoke honestly as he moved to her bed and sat down. He would smile once she continued. He could always get lost in music, even as a child. After she had her fill and stopped, he would speak up once again.

"You are talented." He spoke with the proud look of a father as he looked upon one of his two children. Iro was around somewhere and would probably be in soon to just be around the rest of the family. He was happy with his two children, as they constantly impressed him with their intelligence and strength. "I probably need to find something to play with you. What do you think would be a good fit?" He immediately imagined himself with a giant horn and stifled a laugh. He would simply waited for her more educated opinion on the matter.

With her eyes closed, dancing around her room, it took her a moment to realize her father had entered and was seated on her bed. When she finally opened her eyes and saw him she couldn’t help but smile. He asked for her to continue and she did. She played the song to its very end, imagining in her mind a beautiful and large castle made out of nothing but ice.

When she finished speaking he spoke again, calling her talented. Michie smiled and giggled, giving a graceful bow. At her father’s question of what kind of instrument would go well with her violin she cocked her head to the side and bit her bottom lip, contemplating. She remained silent for a moment or two as she thought deeply and then finally, upon straightening her head and smiling once again from ear to ear, she spoke, ”A flute! Flute’s always go well with a violin, plus they’re portable.”

She nodded a bit with her statement, bouncing in place as she thought about playing another song, and if she decided to do so which one it would be.

After a few minutes of of thinking about the question, Michie came up with an answer he didn't quite expect.

”A flute! Flute’s always go well with a violin, plus they’re portable.”

Her response to his question was golden. He thought about himself playing a flute and chuckled a bit. He could get behind the idea, especially if he could use that in battle to his advantage. He had always wanted to learn a bit of Genjutsu. He would respond with equal excitement. "Sounds like a plan. I'll have to get one the next time we are in town!" He said with a nod of approval before continuing. "Anything you want to do today in particular? I'm sure Iro will want to tag along as well." He said noticing that his son hadn't busted in yet. He would probably around shortly.

Her father seemed quite pleased and happy with her suggestion about a flute. Flute’s were quite easy to carry and to transport; they could be hidden well on ones person without anyone being the wiser without the use of scrolls and sealing. Plus, they were useful when it came to sound based Genjutsu: they added an extra reach, or so she liked to think, compared to having to scream or shout to make a Genjutsu go further.

”Could we go and get some ice cream? I want something cold and chocolatey.” she would ask with a bright smile as she very carefully began to put away her violin into its case. It wasn’t her only violin, and just like with all of the rest she took extra special care in maintaining them. The thought made another idea pop into her head: she needed to find a far more sturdy violin – one that would hold up in the heat of battle better than a regular one.

”I’d like to look for another violin too… one that is strongly made and can hold up with training and general wear and tear of always having it with me. I’d like to use it for Genjutsu, but I’m worried a normal violin wouldn’t be up for the task...”
