PostSubject: Kotetsusei   Thu Dec 01, 2016 2:58 pm

Clan: Koutetsusei

Location: Scattered

Clan History: Centuries ago an orphan child was found wondering the wastes of the Iwa lowlands. He had no name, nor was there any indication of who he could have been or where he came from. A group of travelling merchants first found him, and they took the boy on until they reached a small village that had an orphanage; were they left him in the care of the retired medical ninja that ran the house. The boy had... problems, with his peers; he was small for his age, and years of poor health left him with speech trouble from bad and broken teeth. He couldn't read, he couldn't write, and he looked different; everything children needed to make his life a living hell. At first, they considered him normal enough; he showed no signs of any special gifts beyond a tenacious spirit and stubborn nature.

This stubbornness was not much of a gift during these years; he was passed over for adoption many times because he was seen as too difficult to deal with by the potential parents that passed through twice a year. He'd been at the orphanage for the better part of 5 years when the first incident happened. He was about 9 at the time; or so the ninja in charge guessed; when the first fight happened. The boy was tired of the abuse and fought back; throwing a punch that shattered the jaw of a teen twice his size. No one, not even the boy himself, was able to figure out how it happened; he was strong from the chores and work all the boys did; but no were near that powerful. The only clue anyone has was the injured boy claiming the fist had turned golden just before impact. This was shrugged off as a trick of memory and light; it meant nothing.

And then it happened again. Another fight; another broken bone and claims of the boy's skin changing color. The medic was growing intrigued by these claims, and sent for an old colleague to collect the child. He was sent to Iwa for study in secret; he'd had no name when he arrived, and he left the same way; his records were destroyed that very night. The new medic merely called him Kotetsu, and that was the name the boy would adopt later in life. He spent nearly a decade locked away for study; through his studies of the boy's body and blood he discovered that Kotetsu possessed a Kekkei Genkai that has been thought extinct for more then 80 years: Steel Release.

The power of the Kekkei Genkai was intoxicating; the medic turned warden experimented day and night on him, trying to find a way to steal the ability for himself. The party the man threw when he thought he'd done it was insane; he was so joyous that he'd even let Kotetsu see sunlight for the first time in many years. The man had created a serum that was supposed to transfer the power of Steel Release to himself. However, all it did was turn his body into a solid steel statue; the power of the release was too much for him. Kotetsu watched without as much as a drop of remorse as the man screamed in agony and fear; merely smiling softly and breaking free of his cage. He walked away from the lab and disappeared into the crowds of the village.

Decades passed before he resurfaced; leading a small band of raiders on the lowland plains he'd been found in. They were raiding a village; the same he'd been delivered to as a child. The orphanage was still there; the same medic still ran it. While his people raided for everything they could; he went back and killed the man that had raised him until that day; revenge for the torment he suffered at his hands for much of his life.

From that point, the trail of Kotetsu runs cold; it was another 40 years before another person with Steel Release appeared; Kotetsu's grandson. The boy carried the same power, but not the same hate. He was content to be a raider; his father had built an entire village for his small family to live in; were they were safe and not treated like lab rats. No; he was a raider of the plains out of necessity; the wealth of the Earth Country was stolen by Iwa; the lowlanders lived impoverished lives and barely scrapped by. They raided the military outposts and the few decent cities that existed for supplies they couldn't get otherwise; that was all.

This lasted generations; their home grew into a stable village and the young members of the clan, now called the Koutetsusei, raiding for weapons and materials.

Elements: Steel
Specialization: Ninjutsu || Taijutsu

Kekkei Genkai: Steel Release
Kekkei Genkai Description: Members of this clan have the unique ability to coat any part of their body in a layer of metal. This metal layer provides excellent defensive abilities, while allowing for a boost of sheer brute force damage from Taijutsu attacks. While coated in their metal armor, they gain a +1 tier to their END stat. As the user trains and grows in power, they unlock different types of metal with different abilities.

D-rank: Bronze
C-Rank: Wrought/Pig Iron
B-Rank: Pure Iron
A-Rank: Normal Steel
S-Rank: High-Carbon Steel
SS-Rank: Chakra-Enhanced Steel

Drawbacks: The weight of the steel coating slows the user down significantly. When using a Steel Release jutsu of D-rank or above, the user's SPD stat is reduced by 2 tiers, however the higher ranks and lighter metals {A Rank or higher] this reduction is lowered to -1 tier. Fire is effective against Steel, therefore all Katon attacks deal damage 1 rank higher then normal, and can cancel out Steel Release jutsu of lower rank (B-rank Katon will cancel any Steel Release of C-rank or below). Piercing Raiton attacks of 1 rank higher than the current Steel armor will cause it to shatter, forcing the user to reform it.

Kekkei Genkai Jutsu:

Name: Steel Release: Iron Fist
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Element: Steel
Range: Self
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: -5 chakra per post
Cooldown: Duration + 2
Description: One of the cornerstones of Steel Release, the user simply draws a fist and covers it in a coating of metal. This enhances the damage output significantly by raising the weight of the fist; taking a simple punch and making it able to snap even the hardest bones and leaving severe blunt force trauma. Extreme pain, deep tissue damage, bruising over large areas, broken bones, and internal bleeding are almost guaranteed.

Name: Steel Release:  Iron Stick
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: D-SS
Type: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
Element: Steel
Range: Melee
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: 1 post for creation, weapon lasts until dropped, destroyed, or battle ends
Cooldown: 1-7 posts
Description: The user pools excess metal into their hand and forms it into a weapon; usually similar to a police baton or quarter staff (allowed forms depend on user's specializations). The weapon has all the power, damage output, and defensive properties of the metal it is made out of, and requires the same amount of damage to be destroyed. However, if the user loses contact with the weapon, it will instantly rust and crumble into nothing, no matter what rank or metal it is. Only ONE weapon created this way can exist at any given moment; in order to create another the existing must be destroyed and the cooldown period followed.

Name: Steel Release: Zen Mode
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: A
Type: Defensive, Supplementary
Element: Steel
Range: Self
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: -15 chakra per post
Cooldown: Duration + 5, Twice per thread.
Description: In times of extreme danger, the user is able to assume a special meditative position and coat their entire body in high-carbon steel; raising their defenses by a massive amount. All Taijutsu below B-rank is rendered useless; all Suiton and Fuuton jutsu are negated. Doton of S-rank or higher can crush and damage the user; while all Katon damage is boosted an additional 1 rank above normal (+2 total). Raiton of B-rank or higher will cause normal damage, while piercing Raiton of S-rank or higher will damage and cause the metal coating to shatter. Raiton below B-rank will merely be absorbed by the metal coating and transferred to a grounding point.[/b]
