Location: Konohagakure no Sato

Clan History: The members of this clan specialize in mind-centered techniques which makes them experts at intelligence gathering and espionage. They have also displayed sensory abilities and their techniques include transferring consciousness, reading minds and communicating telepathically. The flower symbol of this clan is the bush clover which symbolizes a "positive love". Most members of the Yamanaka clan wear their hair in a long ponytail, which appears to be traditional.

The Yamanaka clan has a special relationship with the Akimichi and Nara clan. For generations, members of these three families have formed an "Ino–Shika–Chō Trio", named after the first part of the names of the members. The Yamanaka members are the "Ino" in the trio. To strengthen the unity between the three clans, a member of the Sarutobi clan will give them special earrings to present to each generation head when they are promoted to chūnin after which they will swear their oaths. The earrings also symbolize that they are considered adults by their respective clans.

Kekkei Genkai Description:

• Flower Release: Simply put, the Yamanaka are now able to influence the growth of flowering plants and trees; while also using the various parts of the flowers as components of various jutsu. Many carry the seeds of specific flowers and plants so that they are able to vary the jutsu they have available at any time. All seeds carried by the user must be bought; and the effects of the plant and the plant's individual pollen must be stated at time of creation/purchase.
  
• Enhanced Genjutsu: The user has inherited the Genjutsu skills the clan was once famous for; and as such receives a +2 rank and power to all Genjutsu they use.
  

Drawbacks:

• Flower Release: The control extends only to existing plants; the Yamanaka cannot force new plants to appear. Unless the plant exists already, or they carry  viable seeds on their person, their Flower control is useless. The flowering plants are weak to Katon, taking +1 damage from all fire attacks; unless in a swamp, marsh, or other extremely wet area where the plants are too full of water to burn.
  
• Enhanced Genjutsu: The user is physically frail from focusing heavily on Genjutsu and mental conditioning. Because of this, the user is forced to take the Frail SC, and takes additional damage from all physical based attacks. Taijutsu, Bukijutsu, and Weapon Tech attacks deal + 1 rank of damage to the user. Yamanaka with the Enhanced Genjutsu KKG cannot train a physical based specialization [Taijutsu/Bukijutsu/Weapon Tech] above A-rank.

Description: This is one of the genjutsu techniques that have been passed down since ancient times of the Genjutsu art. The user first disappears from plain sight in a mist-like fashion in order to approach the target without being detected. Once close enough, the target will then be completely robbed of their mobility as they see the mirage of a fast-growing tree coiling itself around them. Given that the subject remains conscious, this technique proves extremely efficient for information-gathering. Once the target is immobile, the user can then attack the enemy, usually after emerging from the trunk of the tree.
